Trip to MI

What a fun trip I had. The only thing I would have changed was 5 or 10 degrees cooler temps, otherwise it was perfect. So I arrived in Metamora and chatted with Tish for a few days. We took a few trips to the city (don't ask me the name of it,lol) and we took a day to galavant in her 1972 Vette.
Wed I attended her weekly "gang" meeting. The girls are a blast. I learned a lot, but not sewing related,LOL. (wink, wink) I can't remember all the names so I won't mention any, but I can say the one with the arrow is the hostess and her new home is awesome. What a lovely group of women, and soooo fun.
Whatever you do, don't ask for a chair....it is quite an event,LOL.(sorry gals)
Tish took me to a gourmet market called Papa Joe's which blew my socks off. If you ever go, you have to try these thin crisp delights. A M A Z I N G !!!
I headed toward Port Huron to visit some other dear friends, Jan and Jim. I had the pleasure of playing in her studio which is always enticing. I will only share a tiny portion otherwise I feel we are invading her home and that is not cool. This is her studio window.....I love it.
I took her a little hostess gift....

The next morning another mutual friend arrived to do a bit of fabric shopping. Shannon of Sweet inspirations is a hoot. I have adopted her as my lil sis. I wanted to make her something different so I covered a box where she could keep special trinkets.
We stopped at a fabric shop Jan's hubby found from a TV news ad, then we stopped at Haberman's
and a couple bead shops. The place Jim told us about was the best find of the day.
The 200 mile yard sale was going so Jan and I took Friday to peruse the offerings to Marine City.
The first sale we stopped at was fun, we found some tiny bottles that had been unearthed around the area. They were intact and some were blue and aqua. We gathered a few for our studios which I'm sure we will be soldering on.
We weren't the only ones shopping, this little lady found a toy on her own and carried under a cool place to enjoy. Her father did pay for it, like most of us do when our kids find something they can't live without.

I then found a little lonely looking teddy bear that called my name. I'm not a bear collector but she needed to go home to Indiana with me. I named her Prudence. She was the navigator and Jan was the co-pilot of our venture.
When I arrived home she got a bath. She is smelling as sweet as she looks.

Onward we go.....passing one sale after another until one spun our heads around. We pass all the sales with tons of toys or clothes which saves time. After all, we were on a mission!
It was such a beautiful day. We enjoyed lunch parked under shade trees watching the boats and listening to the birds while a cool breeze kept us very comfortable. It was a fruitful excursion.
We passed many beautiful homes to die for. It was magnificent for those who love old Victorian houses.
I was excited to get to stop at Jan's friend, Vera Grace Emporium. This quaint shop offers the newest to the oldest, jewelry, home accessories, cards, scents, antiques, garden items, fun things for everyone plus it is beautiful every turn you make. I could live in there. And yes, I did find some sweet things for my home.
When it was time to leave Jim packed a huge cabbage in my car for my mom. He has a big garden and really enjoys tending it and as you can see by the size of the cabbage, it rewards him in a big way. He loaded me down with zucchini and cucumbers too which I can't seem to stop eating because they are so sweet.
This beauty was handed to mom yesterday and she was in awe of the size. It is the biggest I've seen. I sat it on the table for the photo because mom couldn't lift it.

I stopped to say bye to Tish and Donald and hit the road for home. It was another memorable trip with great company. Thank you Tish, Donald, Jan, Jim, and Shannon and all the ladies of the Gang!

Until next time, enjoy life one day at a time!
