Sunshine again! 600 followers giveaway!

No matter how down you get from time to time it always comes back to the small things in life that picks you up such as sunshine.  It is already shining bright across the field this morning. I love that my house faces east. I get to watch the sun rise every morning, when it isn't overcast that is. I especially love it when I am wrapped in a quilt with Angell swinging on the porch swing sipping tea as the sky turns amazing colors from fuchsia to periwinkle. As it rises and I make my plans for the day my muse is usually awakened as well. Many times she wins and I run through the house sprucing it up quickly before I head to the studio to see what inspires me. If my home is tidy I feel more apt to create freely.

Lately I've been torn and I haven't wanted to begin a project but I wanted to be stitching on something. I think I just get a little overwhelmed when I finish up an issue of the magazine especially when I have so much other stuff on my plate. No matter how finely I go through the proof copy there are always mistakes I miss and it bothers me. I must admit that it is a relief when it is out of my hands and then I have some time to play before starting the next issue.....a few days anyway.

With not being able to move about my home as quickly as I used to I noticed that I have stopped doing some important things such as walk into the studio and go through the lace drawers or thumb through the fabrics until my muse takes over. Perhaps we all just need a few days to regroup after major projects???? Perhaps we can just blame it on hormones and be done with it! That is what I've decided to do :-)

This morning after watching the sunrise I saw that I have 600 followers and you know what that means? Yes, another reason to smile but also, it means another followers giveaway. I think I want to make something for the prize so I will spend some time thinking on that while my followers can leave a comment on this post letting me know what their favorite flower is.

You don't have to have a blog, the only requirement is that you are a follower of this blog and you leave a comment and a way for me to contact you. I appreciate you taking time to read my blog and find something of interest and I think it is nice to acknowledge that and give something back. I will have DH pick a name from those followers who leave a message by Monday, Presidents day at 12:00 noon CST.
I hope you enjoy your day and have plenty of sunshine and inspiration to make it a day of bliss!

  1. Ciao Pat! Bravissima!

There is probably not a flower I don't love, but my very favorite would have to be the rose...or maybe lilacs...violets...nope, roses are my favorite but followed very closely by the others! Congratulations on 600 followers! That is fantastic!

  10. Hi Pat!
I loveeee daisies, then tulips then.......LOL!!! Congratulations on your following!!
I understand how you feel after completing a major project that you have devoted yourself to for days/months. It takes me a bit as well to re-group and move on even though other projects inevitably are waiting for me to spend time with them. It speaks to balance I think. Anyway....have a super sunny day!

  13. Congratulations on 600 followers - WOW! My favorite flower is the daffodil. It reminds me of so many wonderful things, Easter, Spring and rebirth and my Grandmother who was the warmest most loving person I have ever known. It was her favorite flower. She taught me so many lessons about life including sharing her love of handcrafts, sewing, embroidery, crochet and knitting. I lost her 20 years ago and still miss her everyday.
Thanks for the opportunity to take part in your giveaway, but most of all thank you for sharing your talent and snippets of your life with all of us.

I am definitely a flower person. I love all of them--any type, any color. But if I have to choose just one it would be the gardenia. I have a bush in my yard and the scent from it is heavenly. I keep a bouquet of them in my home all summer long.

hmmm, this will be difficult, though Peonies do come to mind first. I love their big blousy blooms!
though their time is short in my garden they are glorious while there.
my other favorites are many and varied depending on the season and what is in bloom, my garden is much like my CQ all colors all the time!

  34. I adore reading your blog and following along with your stitching and your adventures with your Mom. My favorite flower is the iris. Some call it the poor man's orchid but what I like is how it is so beautiful and TOUGH at the same time. You can drive a car over a clump of iris and they will press on through the adversity and continue to grow and multiply and bloom. Ah yes.

  38. I like lilacs, especially because of their smell, but also because of their light purple color. We had a huge lilac bush (more like a tree) in our yard when I was a young girl and their scent brings back many memories for me. I enjoy your writings, Pat.

Pat you and your talents are such an inspiration and I thank you for sharing so generously. I so admire your work. Wonderful weekend and may you soon find joyful bliss...

  41. Hi Pat, I think we all need a little sunshine especially at this time of year it certainly gives us a lift. It must be exhausting getting the magazine put together so many things to think about, I must say I have'nt noticed any mistakes, there is too much lovliness going on to notice mistakes. My friend 'cottonreel' is enjoying yor mags. and giving things a try, I have ordered the next one for her, she is an inspiriation to me and has taught me so much. My favourite flower is a Rose especially 'Peace' my Dad always grew this one and it reminds me of him. Hope you have a good weekend.

  62. 600 followers is a great milestone! Lucky you! I too have a hard time choosing my favorite flower. I would have to say that right now it's peonies! In the past it has been hydrangeas -- forever. 20 years ago it was irises, but then I went all romantic! My favorite wildflowers are Johnny Jump Ups, and blue cornflowers.

  63. I know I am too late for the draw, darn, and sob sob, lol, but I only got back from France a couple of hours ago. I am going to tell you my favourite flowers anyway, lol - big blowsy old fashioned pink scented roses! Apart from those, any wild flowers growing by the side of the little lanes near our cottage in France. I always pick a few bunches for our cottage in the summer.
