Megan's stocking progress and little giveaway

Well, I have been embellishing Megan's stocking today and I'm ready to assemble it then add the finishing touches such as lace or beading around her name. I will do that tomorrow because I just ordered a pizza and I want to settle in and watch Christmas in Connecticut!
The fabric to the left is for the backing. It reminds me of the Old World fabrics, a medium weight brocade with the raised carpet like feel which I think is perfect for a Christmas stocking. I love a "weighty" stocking before the gifts go in :-)

Speaking of Christmas gifts, I opened my gift #10 which is from Terri Lightfoot. A neat spool ornie and a vintage tree clip redo all tucked in a decorated muslin bag. Thank you Terri. I love them!
I also got to open gift #11 from Linda Morgan. I have to admit I have always wanted an assembled art doll like this.  I sat down a few times intending on making one but it never came to fruition. I could never have made anything close to this sweet creation. Love it Linda!!! Thank you.
Two more days to go. I've decided to offer the gift I made to a blog reader so if you want to be on the list just comment on this post only about your favorite Christmas song. Thats all, just name a Holiday song and make sure I have your email or link to contact you. You will see the giftie in 2 days when I choose a winner! Good luck!

My favorite Christmas song is White Christmas, it reminds me of the movie which I love. Bing Crosby's voice is a delight to listen to.

  2. Your blog is always so inspiring! I try not to miss a post...I love the stocking. Just finished decorating my tree and am preparing to sit down and stitch, too. One of my favorite Christmas songs is "White Christmas", probably because we rarely experience snow in Southeast Texas! Hugs, and Merry Christmas/Joyous Holidays!

  16. What a gorgeous Christmas stocking - and you are using some of my most favourite fabrics of course!
For me it is "Silent Night" but Enya's version. Just so beautiful - it conjures up a most beautiful scene of the Birth of Christ - so serene and peaceful!
Hope all of your Christmas preparations are coming together!
    Big hugs,

One of my favorite Christmas songs is, I'll Be Home for Christmas. I've lived in NY for over 20 years now, but I am originally from ND where alot of my family still lives, so "I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams" is definately one of my favorites..... in my heart I still yearn to go home for Christmas.

  19. My favourite Christmas song is Hark The Herald Angels Sing. We're having an early Christmas this year. My DS, DIL, and the 2 grands are coming out on Sunday to stay over night on their way to spend Christmas with DIL's family on Vancouver Island so our Christmas celebration will be tomorrow. Today I'll have to vacuum dust bunnies :)

I've discovered that my cable TV has a Christmas station among it's music channels and I've been listening every day. When I hear "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus" (to a swing beat) it reminds me of my husband (as he loved to dance) ... and makes me smile.
