Sharing storage find and great online shops

I am home and happy....happy I'm home...whatever! Anyway in my mail I found an order from a dear friend who opened a new etsy shop with her daughter who is quite a talent herself. Diane Knott and Holly Knott opened "Cottage by the Pond". It is filled with embellished cuffs, beautiful accent pillows, greeting cards, fun decorated muslin ribbon and much more. All beautifully done I must add. I bought a roll of the bird stamped muslin to add to my nest collection. I love how it comes on a music stamped clothespin. My order arrived packaged beautifully and I didn't want to unwrap it but wanted to share so here goes.........
Recipe cards featuring Diane's artwork, a pretty tag, music note paper to recycle and their little business insert. I was impressed with the presentation but then Diane does know how to make others smile. If you get a chance, go have a peek at their shop. You won't be disappointed.
Last week I purchased some applique's from Carol of "Country Cottage Friend". A pretty package of freebies were tucked among my purchases along with a nice card and pretty business card.If you are a crazy quilter, Carol has several nice appliques just waiting for a special project.

I love it when sellers take the time to think about presentation. I know it costs a bit more time wise and $, but in the end, it is worth it.

One last thing, I wanted to tell you about these wonderful tightly sealed containers for small storage. I found them at Harbor tools last Saturday when I was running around with DH. Each box has 24 smaller boxes inside to hold small bits, beads, etc. They were only $5 each.

New brooches

As you know when I discover a new project I have to continue making it until it's out of my system. These brooches are no exception. I could sit in the shop and make them all day and night..wait, I have done that...well, I could repeat it daily if I didn't have domestic "stuff" to do that pertains to living. Anyway, before I get going I wanted to share the two brooches completed last night.......... Pale pink mother and baby heart shaped with pink glass butterfly.
Blue and purple hooded girl with dangling pewter heart.
Last night someone was forced to go potty in the rain and she was so mad at me. I dried her and put her on a towel on my work table to ease her out of her sour mood...it didn't work. What a grump!

Off to work ;-(
Have a great day!

Playing with dye

This morning at 1:30 am I was in the kitchen dyeing ribbon, cotton trims and cheesecloth. These are my favorites. I see mermaids and gardens.

I have several colors still drying at the moment and will share pics later. What started me on this dyeing streak? None other than Ellen Anne Eddy. I stopped by her studio yesterday and met Lauren, one of her past students and fiber artist. She was dyeing fabric and sent me home with these two beauties. There are so many who love working with cotton fabrics so I thought with Ellen's beautifully dyed fabrics and my dyed silk ribbon bits of lace and doily parts I may offer a class crazy quilting a swing purse or wall hanging. I will kit up various colorways and announce the class later this month.
I am supposed to be painting another duplex this morning however the place is vacant so the electric wasn't turned on yet and it is dark and rainy today so the lighting is poor for painting. Oh darn! This leaves me a free day to finish a project I must finish. So I am off of this time magnet. Have a great day.
