Accomplishing little

I have decided that someone must be putting something in my tea because I cannot seem to accomplish anything no matter how busy I am. I must pass out for hours and not remember. Can anyone out there relate to that?

For the past three and a half days I have been painting white walls so you know I really needed a color "fix" so out came my dyes. 300 yds of silk ribbon later and I feel better. These are mainly solid colors (boring) while I am sleeping tonight I will dye mottled and pox.....They are ironed and are being carded.

This morning I was at the dentist getting my crown replaced.A few months ago I was eating seedless watermelon and chipped it. Don't ask me how, it just happened. Anyway it is now replaced with a nice shinynew one and I am good to go. Just in time for my stitch presentation tomorrow evening for the String-along quilt guild. After that is over my attention turns to 12 charms, puzzle pieces, some friends gifties and a commissioned item. All fun things. I decided to drift along until I get back to "no obligation" mode before joining the two local groups I had planned on joining last month. It just makes sense to join when my plate isn't overflowing. I want to start with a fresh mind.

Yesterday I took time off to grocery shop. Yes, the fun chore everybody loves to do. I swear prices have doubled since last week. Wow! I had to recover by stopping at Michael's and found some fun things to play with.
I love these garment pins. They are so cute and unique. I'm trying to think of how I could use them in my charm making. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....gotta think about that one a bit.

~~~~I wanted to let those concerned about the fawn that was being chased by the coyote know that it has been back and has a sibling. They have been back a few times and are happy, healthy, and unharmed. However , I haven't seen any sign of the mother. I hope it isn't another orphan issue like a few years ago. :-( Poor babies.
Hopefully I will have some new projects to share next week. A good friend of mom's is arriving Friday to visit for a long weekend so I will most likely be at mom's with them chit-chatting most days which means no or very little blogging. So behave until then and I'll catch ya later.
Happy 4th!
Happy 4th bloggers!!!!
The fireworks have been going on for two days now. Although it has been a gloomy day with scattered showers, people are not letting it dampen their spirit.
Enjoy and be safe.
Finished order!!!
Well, I can now mark off the last item for the large gift shop order because I just finished the last item. The pastel "Beatrice" purse. (The bee purse) I should have been finished this order a few days ago but I spent most of Wed in a Dr.s office with my MIL and yesterday I took the day off to enjoy a trip to Evanston with Brenda, my SIS (Sister in spirit). We went to Vogue fabrics and spent two hours pouring over the goods. I bought some new Dupioni colors and a few trims. I found a few yellow shades and odd colors I didn't have or had very little of. After Vogue, we stopped at Whole foods and had lunch before shopping a bit. I had a wonderful slice of whole wheat pizza that was very delicious and a mango green tea. I was so full I couldn't be tempted by dessert. I wish we had one near us. But then I would be broke for sure.
We took the scenic route near the lake through Evanston and admired the huge estates. They were so beautiful and although they were very large, they were so inviting.I often find huge home to be very cold and boring but those established homes tucked away on wooded lots were wonderful and so close to the lake. I wish I had my camera to share them with you. Next time!
Now I must clean up my studio mess. Tomorrow I start painting one of my MIL's rental units. DS is going to help so hopefully we will be finished by Sunday or Monday because Tuesday morning I have a dentist appointment and in the evening I will be teaching the local quilt guild five CQ stitches. Then it is back to puzzle making so I can get all my IOU's made and mailed by next weekend. (fingers crossed)....... (Thanks for being so patient ladies)
The weather has become cool and a bit rainy so I am taking advantage of my indoor tasks without guilt. It is so hard not to play outside when the sun is shining isn't it?
Well, that is all I have for now. I am feeling the stress level decrease as I mark off my "To Do" list. Yeah!!!!!
Have a safe fourth of July if I don't get a chance to turn on the computer by then. Next week or perhaps Sunday I will have time to share the fun package from my bud Terri T and update the Comfort Doll blog with new dolls and a letter from a shelter.
aDRESSing the situation
Upon the request/suggestion of a sweet and very talented artist friend, Monica, I felt the need to help bring attention to the injustice of the Juarez murders which I had never heard of until I read Monica's post a few days ago. 400 murdered women and 4000 reported missing women and girls to date...sickening.
Although I have a long list of tasks, I really wanted to join this project in hopes it may bring awareness to this horrifying issue. With deadlines to make and unexpected family issues to deal with, my hopes on joining Monica were dimming. I didn't know where I would find the time before today's deadline to create a dress to send off. Last night after returning home after a long tedious day, I found peace and inspiration, as I often do , in my studio.
I printed, cut,pieced, and embellished a dress last night, finishing it a few moments ago. I just added the final touches and slipped it in an envelope.
My plans....when I thought I had so much time, were to create a dress reflecting Mexico's colors...Green(HOPE) ,White (PURITY) ,Red (UNION). Although I believe all of those words reflect the meaning of this issue, I decided to create from the heart instead because I couldn't help but remember the faces of victims in the video. Seeing the beautiful faces of the young women who were murdered and are missing and forgotten by authorities. I decided on a feminine dress in pastels which any young woman might enjoy wearing.
Naturally it had to include crazy quilting.....
Monica, I hope this brings awareness to the issue. It has surely enlightened me.
