Good morning!

I hope everyone is having a great morning....or evening depending on where you are. This weekend flew by so quickly. It was a cold weekend, and yesterday it looked like we were going to get a blizzard, then the sun came out and then it snowed again. We ended up with just a dusting of snow in our yard. How weird was that!
Well, although still freezing, the sun is out this morning and I have errands to run. I'm a bit tired because after watching Brother's and Sister's two hour event last night, I wasn't tired and didn't get to sleep until midnight. I will go to sleep early tonight because starting tomorrow I will be stuck in a duplex painting white walls. Hopefully I can finish by Saturday because I know I will need to play with color!!!!!

Yesterday I joined Sue and Wendy for open studio play. Wendy was making photo charms and showed her transfers using Gesso. I am learning so much from those gals. I'm going to try that next weekend. I have a few ideas floating around that I must apply to fabrics and fibers.

Sue was playing with her glass flower petals I ground for us when she loaned me her glass grinder. Oooops! Speaking of grinders, I HAVE ONE!!!! I haven't had a chance to turn it on yet, but watch out when I do. Anyway, Sue's petals were neat and I can't wait to see that finished.

I played around with the tube beads Wendy showed me a few weeks ago. I want to make a jar full to have when I need them. It is always a good thing to be able to make embellishment elements when you can. So much more personal plus it is fun to see what you can come up with.

Sue loaned me another neat book. It has some great ideas. I thumbed through it last night but didn't have time to really delve into it. Her extensive library is amazing. DVD's, books, plus seeing what those two creative queens come up with are enough to keep this gal busy and inspired forever! I'm still amazed at how we haven't hooked up before living near each other forever, but then again, all three of us are at the same point in our lives, which makes it so pleasant and the creative outlet we need. As hesitant as I was to teach the first class at the Art Center, I now see why I was meant to. I met such nice women who I can't imagine not knowing now. They have enriched my life in many ways. Karen and Becky , Jilly Bean, and Wendy and Sue. I would have never imagined gaining such friendship through teaching a class.

Confession.....I didn't finish my fourth puzzle piece yet. I will stitch a bit in the evenings if I am able. The small bit of blue in the image (flower) bothered me and I couldn't ignore its presence so I am adding bits of blue. This is what I have so far. Yes, there is a dragonfly charm on this one too. I will add one to all my pieces. In my little world, I have dedicated the dragonfly symbol to represent friendship.
I have to get going, time waits for no one...or so they say. Hopefully I will want to blog this week after painting, but if not....I'll make up for it next week! Take care and be creative!

  1. Well, I have decided that pictures just don't do it for me. You MUST trade with me so I can see one of these beauties up close and personal! I look at it and then I remember the size of these pieces and I know the details must really be small. I'm so impressed.
